Bewegte Lebenswelten – Einblicke in Raum- und Bewegungserleben in Ganztagsschulen aus Sicht von Kindern
(Moving worlds—Insights into experiences of space and movement in all-day schools from the perspective of children)
Abstract
Against the background of the expansion of all-day educational offerings as one of the largest educational policy reform projects in Germany and the discourse on the institutionalization of childhood, the aim of the study on which this article is based was to use a participatory mixed-methods design to illuminate the perspective of children on all-day school as their place of life. With an appropriation-theoretical perspective on the experience of space and movement in predominantly informal settings of education and learning, this article classifies the results into the expectations associated with the introduction of all-day school and the relevance attributed to sport and movement in particular—both in their perspective on the individual, in terms of changing education, improving school quality, as well as their social relevance. On this basis, conceptual implications for the actors involved are derived and the findings, in particular, framed from an inequality-sensitive perspective.
