Ein Praxisbericht aus der Universitätsbibliothek Kassel
(Is the corona crisis also a chance?)
Abstract
Während des Corona-Lockdowns wurden die meisten Bibliotheken geschlossen. In dieser Zeit waren die Nutzerinnen und Nutzer vor allem auf elektronische Medien angewiesen. Das Beispiel der UB Kassel zeigt, wie stark der Wunsch nach E-Books war. Das Bibliothekspersonal und auch die Verlage haben innerhalb kürzester Zeit neue Dienstleistungen angeboten. Die Universität Kassel reagierte tagesaktuell auf die neuen Entwicklungen. So wurde bspw. die Lehre auf digital umgestellt und das mobile Arbeiten für die Beschäftigten eingeführt.
During the lockdown due to coronavirus most libraries were closed and users had to rely on e-media services. The example of the university library in Kassel shows that there was a huge demand for e-books. Library staff and publishers came up with new services in almost no time. The University of Kassel reacted flexibly to the developments on a daily basis, moving from analog to digital in learning and teaching, and introducing mobile working conditions for employees.
