Natur in der Neuen Suburbanität
Abstract
Unter dem Schlagwort Neue Suburbanität werden Siedlungserweiterungen, die einen städtischen Charakter aufweisen sollen, an Stadträndern von Großstädten diskutiert und entworfen. Zugleich wird über Formen der Mensch-Naturbeziehungen auch in Städten diskutiert und sie sollen z. B. hinsichtlich des Klimawandels, der Lebensmittelversorgung, Biodiversität und Pädagogik bei Neubausiedlungen berücksichtigt werden. Daher untersucht diese Studie exemplarisch an neueren Siedlungserweiterungen am Stadtrand Hamburgs, welche Bedeutung der Mensch-Naturbeziehung in den letzten 50 Jahren von der Stadtplanung zugemessen wurde und in welchen Formen es baulich realisiert werden sollte. Dabei wird der Grünplanung von Seiten der Stadtplanung eine zentrale Funktion zur Darstellung der gewünschten Mensch-Naturbeziehung zugewiesen. Anhand von Diskursanalysen stadtplanerischer Dokumente und einer Geländebegehung der realisierten Siedlungen konnten sowohl die Leitbilder für Mensch-Naturbeziehungen herausgestellt als auch die Bewährung bestimmter stadtplanerischer Entwürfe und deren Folgen untersucht werden. Ausgewählt wurden Untersuchungsräume in den Siedlungserweiterungen von Neuallermöhe West und Ost sowie die noch nicht realisierten Planungen zu Oberbillwerder.
Die moderne Stadt- und Grünplanung wird von dem städtebaulichen Leitbild einer landschaftlichen Stadt begleitet, das im Widerspruch zur Forderung einer kompakten Stadt steht, die mit der neuen Suburbanität realisiert werden soll. Dieser Widerspruch offenbarte sich sowohl in den realisierten Siedlungserweiterungen als auch in dem Masterplan für Oberbillwerder. In der Analyse zeigten sich Kontinuitäten, die als Verfeinerung der bisher in der Stadt- und Grünplanung verfolgten Mensch-Naturbeziehung zu verstehen sind. Insofern hat sich die Qualität der Grünplanung in der neuen Suburbanität nicht verändert, die Quantität schon.
