Abstract
En el Valle del Urubamba (Cusco), la zona central del Tawantinsuyu, los incas construyeron las más notables llactas ("ciudad", pueblo, centro ceremonial o huaca tutelar) y tambos (posadas) rodeados de un paisaje reconocido por ellos como geografía sagrada. Las obras de arquitectura y de modelación del paisaje que dejaron son testimonios admirados por todo el mundo.
Sustentan su notable ingeniería y belleza propuestas arquitectónicas sofisticadas: diseños que han de ser interpretados a la luz de la cosmovisión inca y el pensamiento de los arquitectos de su época.

In the Urubamba Valley (Cusco), the central area of Tawantinsuyu, the Incas built the most remarkable llactas ("city", town, ceremonial center or tutelary huaca) and tambos (warehouses and inns) surrounded by a landscape acknowledged by them as sacred geography. The works of architecture and landscape modeling they left are testimonies admired by the entire world.
Their remarkable engineering and beauty are underpinned by sophisticated architectural proposals: designs that need to be interpreted in the light of the Inca worldview and the thinking of the architects of their time.
