Baumwollfasern eignen sich etwa als Verstärkungsfasern, die die mechanischen Eigenschaften von biobasierten Kunststoffen steigern. Durch die Nutzung solcher Abfallströme können in Zukunft kostengünstig und biobasiert Materialien verstärkt werden.
