Aufsatz Optical amplification and stability of spiroquaterphenyl compounds and blends

Fuhrmann-Lieker, Thomas; Lambrecht, J.; Hoinka, Nicolai Morten; Kiurski, M.; Wiske, A.; Hagelstein, G.; Yurttagül, N.; Abdel-Awwad, M.; Wilke, H.; Messow, F.; Hillmer, H.; Salbeck, J. (2015)
In this contribution, we present a systematic investigation on a series of spiroquaterphenyl compounds optimised for solid state lasing in the near ultraviolet (UV). Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) thresholds in the order of 1 μJ/cm2 are obtained in neat (undiluted) films and blends, with emission peaks at 390 1 nm for unsubstituted and meta-substituted quaterphenyls and 400 4 nm for para-ether substituted quaterphenyls. Mixing with a transparent matrix retains a low threshold, shifts the emission to lower ...

Aufsatz A pilot investigation of the relationship between climate variability and milk compounds under the bootstrap technique

Marami Milani, Mohammad Reza; Hense, Andreas; Rahmani, Elham; Ploeger, Angelika (2015)
This study analyzes the linear relationship between climate variables and milk components in Iran by applying bootstrapping to include and assess the uncertainty. The climate parameters, Temperature Humidity Index (THI) and Equivalent Temperature Index (ETI) are computed from the NASA-Modern Era Retrospective-Analysis for Research and Applications (NASA-MERRA) reanalysis (2002–2010). Milk data for fat, protein (measured on fresh matter bases), and milk yield are taken from 936,227 milk records for the same period, ...

Aufsatz Meshing highly regular structures: The case of super carbon nanotubes of arbitrary order

Schröppel, Christian; Wackerfuß, Jens (2015)
Mesh generation is an important step inmany numerical methods. We present the “HierarchicalGraphMeshing” (HGM)method as a novel approach to mesh generation, based on algebraic graph theory. The HGM method can be used to systematically construct configurations exhibiting multiple hierarchies and complex symmetry characteristics. The hierarchical description of structures provided by the HGM method can be exploited to increase the efficiency of multiscale and multigrid methods. In this paper, the HGM method is employed ...

Aufsatz Does interpersonal behavior of psychotherapy trainees differ in private and professional relationships?

Fincke, Janna I.; Möller, Heidi; Taubner, Svenja (2015)
• Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of trainees’ interpersonal behavior on work involvement (WI) and compared their social behavior within professional and private relationships as well as between different psychotherapeutic orientations. • Methods: The interpersonal scales of the Intrex short-form questionnaire and the Work Involvement Scale (WIS) were used to evaluate two samples of German psychotherapy trainees in psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapy training. Trainees ...

Aufsatz Development of 18 Polymorphic Microsatellite Markers for Vinca minor (Apocynaceae) via 454 Pyrosequencing

Moeller, Sina; Wöhrmann, Tina; Huettel, Bruno; Weising, Kurt (2015)
• Premise of the study: Polymorphic microsatellite markers were developed in Vinca minor (Apocynaceae) to evaluate the level of clonality, population structure, and genetic diversity of the species within its native and introduced range. • Methods and Results: A total of 1371 microsatellites were found in 43,565 reads from 454 pyrosequencing of genomic V. minor DNA. Additional microsatellite loci were mined from publicly available cDNA sequences. After several rounds of screening, 18 primer pairs flanking di-, tri-, ...

Aufsatz Loss of Anticodon Wobble Uridine Modifications Affects tRNALys Function and Protein Levels in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Klassen, Roland; Grunewald, Pia; Thüring, Kathrin L.; Eichler, Christian; Helm, Mark; Schaffrath, Raffael (2015)
In eukaryotes, wobble uridines in the anticodons of tRNALysUUU, tRNAGluUUC and tRNAGlnUUG are modified to 5-methoxy-carbonyl-methyl-2-thio-uridine (mcm5s2U). While mutations in subunits of the Elongator complex (Elp1-Elp6), which disable mcm5 side chain formation, or removal of components of the thiolation pathway (Ncs2/Ncs6, Urm1, Uba4) are individually tolerated, the combination of both modification defects has been reported to have lethal effects on Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Contrary to such absolute requirement ...

Aufsatz Information needs for a purchase of fairtrade coffee

Schleenbecker, Rosa; Hamm, Ulrich (2015)
This research investigates what information German Fairtrade coffee consumers search for during pre-purchase information seeking and to what extent information is retrieved. Furthermore, the sequence of the information search as well as the degree of cognitive involvement is highlighted. The role of labeling, the importance of additional ethical information and its quality in terms of concreteness as well as the importance of product price and organic origin are addressed. A set of information relevant to Fairtrade ...

Aufsatz Spatio-temporal resolution studies on a highly compact ultrafast electron diffractometer

Gerbig, C.; Senftleben, A.; Morgenstern, S.; Sarpe, C.; Baumert, T. (2015)
Time-resolved diffraction with femtosecond electron pulses has become a promising technique to directly provide insights into photo induced primary dynamics at the atomic level in molecules and solids. Ultrashort pulse duration as well as extensive spatial coherence are desired, however, space charge effects complicate the bunching of multiple electrons in a single pulse.Weexperimentally investigate the interplay between spatial and temporal aspects of resolution limits in ultrafast electron diffraction (UED) ...

Aufsatz Asymptotic model for shape resonance control of diatomics by intense non-resonant light: universality in the single-channel approximation

Crubellier, Anne; Gonzáles-Férez, Rosario; Koch, Christiane P.; Luc-Koenig, Eliane (2015)
Non-resonant light interacting with diatomics via the polarizability anisotropy couples different rotational states and may lead to strong hybridization of the motion. The modification of shape resonances and low-energy scattering states due to this interaction can be fully captured by an asymptotic model, based on the long-range properties of the scattering (Crubellier et al 2015 New J. Phys. 17 045020). Remarkably, the properties of the field-dressed shape resonances in this asymptotic multi-channel description ...

Aufsatz Asymptotic model for shape resonance control of diatomics by intense non-resonant light

Crubellier, Anne; Gonzáles-Férez, Rosario; Koch, Christiane P.; Luc-Koenig, Eliane (2015)
We derive a universal model for atom pairs interacting with non-resonant light via the polarizability anisotropy, based on the long range properties of the scattering. The corresponding dynamics can be obtained using a nodal line technique to solve the asymptotic Schrödinger equation. It consists of imposing physical boundary conditions at long range and vanishing the wavefunction at a position separating the inner zone and the asymptotic region. We show that nodal lines which depend on the intensity of the ...
