Multi-site time-trend analysis of soil fertility management effects on crop production in sub-Saharan West Africa
(2002)
Soil fertility constraints to crop production have been recognized widely as a major obstacle to food security and agro-ecosystem sustainability in sub-Saharan West Africa. As such, they have led to a multitude of research projects and policy debates on how best they should be overcome. Conclusions, based on long-term multi-site experiments, are lacking with respect to a regional assessment of phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizer effects, surface mulched crop residues, and legume rotations on total dry matter of cereals ...

Phosphorus placement an acid arenosols of the West African Sahel
(2003)
Phosphorus (P) deficiency is a major constraint to pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) growth on acid sandy soils of the West African Sahel. To develop cost-effective fertilization strategies for cash poor farmers, experiments with pearl millet were conducted in southwestern Niger. Treatments comprised single superphosphate hill-placed at rates of 1, 3, 5 or 7 kg P ha^−1 factorially combined with broadcast P at a rate of 13 kg ha^−1. Nitrogen was applied as calcium ammonium nitrate at rates of 30 and 45 kg ha^−1. ...

Tomographic imaging of molecular orbitals in length and velocity form
(American Institute of Physics, 2007-11-29)
Recently Itatani et al. [Nature 432, 876 (2004)] introduced the new concept of molecular orbital tomography, where high harmonic generation (HHG) is used to image electronic wave functions. We describe an alternative reconstruction form, using momentum instead of dipole matrix elements for the electron recombination step in HHG. We show that using this velocity-form reconstruction, one obtains better results than using the original length-form reconstruction. We provide numerical evidence for our claim that one has ...

Story Analyzing als Zugang zur Organisationskultur
(2006)
The Psychohistory of Lloyd deMause as a key to corporate culture - The corporate culture approach is considered a central key to the understanding of the dynamics of organizations. Since the corporate culture mirrors unconscious contexts of meaning, culture analysis in organizations gain in importance. Narratives convey culture. So why not use narratives for the analysis of organisational cultures? The combination of data collection through work biographies with a resembling »narrative analytical method« such as the ...

Das Scheitern von Projekten
(2007)

Intrinsic channel closing in strong-field single ionization of H2
(American Physical Society, 2008-04-08)
