The Impact of Electricity Sector Privatisation on Employees in Argentina and Brazil
(Rainer Hampp Verlag, München, Mering, 2014)
This book investigates country-specific responses to privatisation by examining two of the most important Latin American examples of the 1990s, the Argentine and the Brazilian programmes, and one essential public service sector, electricity. In doing so, it aims to: identify the impact of privatisation on electricity sector employees in Argentina and Brazil during the 1990s; explore how the impact came about; and analyse the reasons for this impact. A multi-dimensional perspective provides a comparative analysis of ...

Changing market conditions and the Brexit - Challenges for the traditional and the shadow banking systems
(2018-10-22)
Following the financial crisis of 2008/2009, the framework conditions for the financial sector, especially for banks and insurance companies in the Euro and US regions, have changed significantly. Banks and insurance companies in the Euro zone and the US are facing increasing regulatory requirements such as the Dodd Frank Act in the US and Basel II and III in the Euro zone. In addition, the environment for American and European banks and insurance companies has increasingly changed over the last few years as a result ...

Der Momentum-Effekt und Momentum-Handelsstrategien
(2016-01-14)

Sustainable and responsible investments & private investors in Germany
(2017-12-08)
Sustainable and responsible investments (SRI) have grown strongly over the past two decades. While corresponding investment volumes are still rather small compared to those of conventional investments, almost every conventional investment product has a counterpart applying a sustainable and responsible investment strategy (FNG 2016). In light of current developments, an increasing importance of SRI in the future can be assumed. By way of example, SRI can be an important instrument in order to achieve and implement ...

Individuals' (re-)action in the face of global warming
(2015-04-23)

From evolution to co-evolution – An empirical study of the role of innovation, policy and public research in industrial dynamics
(2015-05-28)
In the past decades since Schumpeter’s influential writings economists have pursued research to examine the role of innovation in certain industries on firm as well as on industry level. Researchers describe innovations as the main trigger of industry dynamics, while policy makers argue that research and education are directly linked to economic growth and welfare. Thus, research and education are an important objective of public policy. Firms and public research are regarded as the main actors which are relevant for ...

Customer Recovery Controlling
(2010-06-02)

Impact of ownership concentration and corporate governance on sustainability and stakeholder risk: An empirical Analysis of listed firms from USA, UK and Germany.
(Corporate ownership and control, 2017-03-05)
This thesis contributes to and extends the literature by observing the impact of corporate governance and different attributes of board effectiveness and firm level corporate governance mechanism on stakeholder risk. Like shareholders, stakeholders also face the agency problem and fear losing their hidden resources and efforts. This thesis defines this fear of losing resources and efforts and long-term sustainability prospects as stakeholder risk. Here, it is worthwhile to mention that this thesis also contributes ...
