Determinants of sustainable agricultural intensification adoption and impacts on household productivity and consumption in Rwanda
(2022-01-31)
Sustainable agricultural intensification (SAI) involves those farming systems that produce in ways that improve or maintain productivity with minimal e ects on the environment so that critical farm resources can endure. The objective of this paper is to investigate the determinants and impacts of the adoption of three interdependent sustainable agricultural intensification practices (crop residue retention, minimum tillage, and maize-legume diversification) and their combinations on household productivity and consumption ...

Personalbedarf Kasseler Unternehmen
(2011-11-07)

Duplication coefficients via generating functions
(2006)
In this paper, we solve the duplication problem P_n(ax) = sum_{m=0}^{n}C_m(n,a)P_m(x) where {P_n}_{n>=0} belongs to a wide class of polynomials, including the classical orthogonal polynomials (Hermite, Laguerre, Jacobi) as well as the classical discrete orthogonal polynomials (Charlier, Meixner, Krawtchouk) for the specific case a = −1. We give closed-form expressions as well as recurrence relations satisfied by the duplication coefficients.

Three-electron radiative transitions
(1993)
A new type of many-electron radiative transitions involving three electrons is predicted. The results of their investigation by many-body perturbation theory are presented. New spectral lines observed in the wavelength range of 37.5 to 54.0 nm by means of photon-induced fluorescence spectroscopy (PIFS) following the excitation of the Kr I 3d{^-1}np resonances are reported and compared with the predictions.

Finite element method for the accurate solution of diatomic molecules
(1989)
We present the Finite-Element-Method (FEM) in its application to quantum mechanical problems solving for diatomic molecules. Results for Hartree-Fock calculations of H_2 and Hartree-Fock-Slater calculations of molecules like N_2 and C0 have been obtained. The accuracy achieved with less then 5000 grid points for the total energies of these systems is 10_-8 a.u., which is demonstrated for N_2.

Pursuing a Developmental State Trade Agenda in a Neo-Liberal Context
(Rainer Hampp Verlag, München, Mering, 2014)
This book explains why it was possible for the Worker’s Party (PT) in Brazil and the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa to pursue a developmental state trade policy, in spite of neoliberal constraints. The major theoretical lenses are three-fold. It applies state theory (macrolevel), policy network analysis (meso-level) and theories on political parties with emphasis on factional politics (micro-level). This book highlights the socio-political relevance of comparatively progressive policy frameworks and ...

Impact of ownership concentration and corporate governance on sustainability and stakeholder risk: An empirical Analysis of listed firms from USA, UK and Germany.
(Corporate ownership and control, 2017-03-05)
This thesis contributes to and extends the literature by observing the impact of corporate governance and different attributes of board effectiveness and firm level corporate governance mechanism on stakeholder risk. Like shareholders, stakeholders also face the agency problem and fear losing their hidden resources and efforts. This thesis defines this fear of losing resources and efforts and long-term sustainability prospects as stakeholder risk. Here, it is worthwhile to mention that this thesis also contributes ...

The interplay of sustainability and capital markets
(2023)
Humanity faces significant environmental and social challenges, e.g., climate change (UN, 2019). Those challenges are, to some extent, addressed by politics. For instance, the European Union (EU) tries to address environmental topics, such as climate change, with the EU Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth to steer capital flows into more sustainable business models (EU, 2018). This regulatory development, in conjunction with a surging demand for sustainable investment solutions leads to a pressing need for ...
