Right-Wing Politics in the Current Conjuncture
(2022-09)
In this working paper, the author situates the political project under Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (termed the “Kurz project”) as a mode of neoliberal crisis management. The case study is conducted using a conjunctural analysis. It is argued that following the event of the Ibiza-affair in 2019 which led to a political crisis in Austria, the Kurz project managed to solidify its stance despite numerous scandals. The main findings are that on the one hand, this is due to a specific strategy employed by Sebastian Kurz, ...

However, stress over water resource availability has gradually increased. Therefore, water resource management has been one critical theme in politics and policies in Mongolia with respect to climate conditions and socioeconomic ...

The rational of minimum wages
(kassel university press, 2021-03)
Leaving labour markets to the market mechanism with flexible wages is the worst thing that can happen as the result would be a permanent destabilisation of the price level and an explosion of inequality—both of which adds to the instabilities of capitalism. Guarantee of minimum wages can play an important role to contain the destabilising potential of labour markets. They can add to the stability of price level development and help establish a type of wage dispersion preferred by society. Minimum wages do not lead ...

Economic growth and employment generation nexus: Insight from Ghana
(kassel university press, 2016)
Ghana is undoubtedly regarded as one of the leading lights in Africa in terms of strong growth performance since the wind of economic reforms blew across Africa in the 1980s.The challenge has, however, been the effect of this remarkable growth story on the creation of sufficient jobs for the increasing working age population. This paper uses arithmetic computation and econometric estimation to measure and assess the employment effect of the level and sources of growth on the employment generation. It further shows ...
