Many things have changed in Southern Transylvania over the last 30 years – communism ended, the Saxons have all but left, Romania is now part of the European Union (EU), and people use mobile phones and computers. With this small book, we invite our readers to think about, and discuss, what might happen in Southern Transylvania over the next 30 years. What will communities feel like in 2043, what will the landscape look like, and what will happen to wild nature in the process? Nobody can predict precisely what the future will hold. But still, it is worthwhile asking what might happen in order to be well prepared for the future, and to be ready for the unexpected.
