Wiederholung und Variation im Gespräch des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit. Einleitende Überlegungen
Abstract
Als sprachliches und kulturelles Phänomen ist die Wiederholung in der Alltagskommunikation ebenso ubiquitär präsent wie in Literatur und Kunst. Repetitive sprachliche Strukturen finden sich in den verschiedensten Gattungen und Traditionen des Sprechens und Schreibens, sie treten in monologischen und dialogischen Redekonstellationen auf, in Mündlichkeit und Schriftlichkeit, in nähesprachlichen und distanzsprachlichen Formen des Sprechens (vgl. Koch/Oesterreicher 2011) und erfüllen ein breites Spektrum an Funktionen. Darüber hinaus prägen Wiederholungen nicht allein Texte verschiedener Webart, sondern auch die Sprache selbst durch das Phänomen der „wiederholten Rede“ (Coseriu 1992: 275–280), das verfestigte Formen des Sprechens wie Phraseologismen und Routineformeln umfasst. Doch, so lässt sich provokativ fragen, ist Wiederholung überhaupt möglich? Die Forschung zur Wiederholung, die in den letzten Jahrzehnten in den Sprach-, Literatur und Kulturwissenschaften entstanden ist, kreist nicht zufällig immer wieder um diese zentrale Frage von Gleichheit und Andersheit, von Identität und Differenz im Akt des Wiederholens.
