| dcterms.abstract | Los tiempos de la arquitectura de Arequipa responden, más que a clasificaciones historicistas estilísticas, a las frecuencias de los sismos. Entender esto exige aceptar persistencias y fragmentaciones en una misma obra, que en su conjunto adquiere, más allá de expresar un modo de vida, una compleja espacialidad, funcionalidad y construcción.
Resulta una arquitectura que según el sino de su tiempo sabe ser renacentista, manierista, barroca o neoclásica, integrando lo necesario para hacer posible la continuidad de la vida también arquitectónicamente.

| dcterms.abstract | The times of Arequipa's architecture respond, more than to stylistic historicist classifications, to the frequencies of earthquakes. To understand this requires accepting persistences and fragmentations in the same work, which as a whole acquires, beyond expressing a way of life, a complex spatiality, functionality and construction.
The result is an architecture that, according to the fate of its time, can be Renaissance, Mannerist, Baroque or Neoclassical, integrating what is necessary to make possible the continuity of life also architecturally.
