Interactions between sustainability, associated risks and capital markets
Abstract
In light of significant social injustices worldwide and the impacts of climate change, particularly on emerging economies, the United Nations (UN) have agreed upon the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are intended to contribute to sustainable development by achieving 17 individual goals by 2030. Redirecting financial flows is crucial for achieving these goals on a global scale, thereby assigning a central role to capital markets in this context. This gives rise to various questions that necessitate scientific discourse on this topic. This dissertation aims to contribute to this discourse through five distinct contributions, focusing primarily on the interactions between sustainability, associated risks, and capital markets.
