Zum Einfluss der Wechselwirkung zwischen Schalmaterial, Trennmittel und Beton auf die Eigenschaften von Sichtbetonflächen
Abstract

Surfaces of exposed concrete are subject to stringent requirements with regard to appearance.
For example, the colouring should be even and the surface should be low in pores - though the precise requirements vary depending on the stipulated exposed-concrete class.
This demands a high degree of production skill as well as decided expertise in the efficiency and interaction of the deployed materials. However, practical experience indicates that the selective and uniform production of surfaces of exposed concrete is challenging. The aim of this dissertation is to enhance this knowledge.
The present dissertation therefore examines the influence of the interactions between cladding material, separating agents and concrete on the characteristics of surfaces of exposed concrete from the nano to the macro levels and throughout the entire construction process.
The results on the nano level demonstrate that the deployed materials can be characterised and their efficiency with regard to the achievable exposed-concrete quality can be described. It is therefore possible to formulate suitable material combinations. Moreover, the results show that the expected interactions depend primarily on the film of separating agents.
The results on the micro level indicate that, apart from the deployment frequency of the cladding materials, the used indirect materials influence both the crystalline structure and the hydration in the mortar peripheral zone. As a result, it is evident that such influence may be reduced or strengthened depending on the combination of the deployed materials. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that the pore formation in the visible range depends on the combination of indirect materials.
The model developed on the macro level describes the pore and crystalline structure in surfaces of exposed concrete.
