LAMBAYEQUE – TERRITORIO Y CLIMA
Conference 69 in the lecture series "Academic Culture", that invites each week an outstanding Peruvian or international architect colleague. The theme of each lecture is based on the studies, master's or doctoral thesis, always excellent, developed by this colleague; each presentation includes a reflection of the process of gestation of these works.
In this way, Cultura Académica offers the opportunity to learn a lot: about the subject treated as well as about the conception and realization of a high level scientific work in practice.
LAMBAYEQUE – TERRITORIO Y CLIMA
Agricultura y Urbanización en la Antigüedad, Colonia y República
(LAMBAYEQUE - TERRITORY AND CLIMATE / Agriculture and Urbanization in the Antiquity, Colony and Republic)
Abstract

The vast coastal alluvial plain of Lambayeque historically offers good conditions for agricultural exploitation, allowing the cultures that settled there to flourish - despite the rains of the El Niño phenomenon, which cyclically devastate irrigation, road, production and housing infrastructure.
The conference presents the strategies of occupation of the territory developed by each epoch to face the destruction caused by rain and floods.
