Multichannel single center method
(2022-08-10)
A multichannel single center (MCSC) method for the theoretical description of the electron continuum spectrum in molecules is reported. The method includes coupling between different continuum channels via electron correlations and describes, thereby, photoelectron continuum in the Tamm–Dancoff (configuration interaction singles) approximation. Basic equations of the non-iterative one-channel single center (SC) method and their extension to the MCSC method are presented, and an efficient scheme for their numerical ...

Living locked down – An autoethnographic approach to strategies of adaption to confined living in north Hesse, Germany
(2022-09-07)
Based on autoethnographic observations and phenomenological descriptions of everyday life, this article develops a theory about the connection between challenging housing experiences and the lockdown situation during the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany. A special focus is placed on living in community, i.e. living permanently together with other people. The reorganisation of spatial routines and the bundling of these in the flat led to the development of new methods of everyday life in terms of work, leisure and social ...

Scanning the solutions for the sustainable supply of forest ecosystem services in Europe
(2022-03-22)
Forests are key components of European multifunctional landscapes and supply numerous forest ecosystem services (FES) fundamental to human well-being. The sustainable provision of FES has the potential to provide responses to major societal challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, or rural development. To identify suitable strategies for the future sustenance of FES, we performed a solution scanning exercise with a group of transdisciplinary forest and FES experts from different European regions. We ...

An 8-bit precision cipher for fast image encryption
(2022-04-21)
Implementing chaos based ciphers usually involves 32-bit floating-point arithmetics that is hardware resources costly. The limitation of the computational precision is hardware imposed and transforms chaotic orbits into limit cycles with short periods, hence alters their randomness. In cryptographic applications, short period dynamics and weak randomness result in security issues. In order to address this concern, we propose an 8-bit precision cipher that can be implemented with low-end microprocessors running 8-bit ...

Digitale frühe Bildung in der fachschulischen Qualifizierung
(2022-04-06)

Romance and the ozone layer: panel evidence on green behavior in couples
(2022-02-03)
The exploration of the drivers of interpersonal alignment processes in romantic partners is particularly relevant to policies that promote green behavior because social anchoring in families and relationships can undermine effective behavioral change. The present paper aims to investigate the role important life events, such as childbirth, marriage, and the acquisition of real estate, in explaining the alignment of pro-environmental behavior within couples over time. The adoption of a life-course perspective is a ...

(2022-08-01)
Rezension zu: Siegfried Greif: Was ist Coaching? Wissenschaftliche Grundlagen und praktische Methoden. Hamburg: Tredition, 2021, 228 S., 29,50 €. //
