Magnetic Textures and Magnetization Reversal Processes in Arrays of Ferromagnetic and Exchange-Biased Hollow Hemispheres
(2022)
The main objective of this thesis is to investigate hemispherical caps prepared by thin film deposition of magnetic material compositions on top of nano- and micrometer sized silica spheres. When compared to flat magnetic discs, these microcaps differ in their magnetic properties due to the curved and therefore three-dimensional shape. However, under certain conditions, both microstructures have previously been proven to express the famous magnetic vortex texture because of the confinement into a circular shape. ...

Digitaler Wandel in der Landschaftsarchitektur
(2022-01)

The potential of red kidney beans and brown rice-based flakes for breakfast to reduce obesity
(2022-02-15)
Obesity has become one of the world's most important public health issues. This research aimed to produce healthy breakfast flakes made from red beans flour and brown rice flour to reduce obesity. Determination of the selected flakes product based on the hedonic test result which includes four formulas (F1, F2, F3, F4) with five attributes. Based on the results of the analysis of organoleptic data, formula F4 had the highest hedonic score, and there were significant differences in the attributes of taste, and texture ...

Deciphering consumer purchase intention towards red palm oil as functional food: evidence from Malaysia
(2022-04-15)
This study aims to identify the determinants influencing consumer purchase intention towards red palm oil as a functional food with the application of an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) among Malaysian consumers. A total of 370 data were collected via mall intercepts in Malaysia using convenience sampling. Partial least squares (PLS) analysis was used to evaluate the measurement and structural model of the study. The results demonstrated that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control ...

The ‘fine balance’ of West African savannah parklands: biomass generation versus firewood consumption
(2022-03-15)
In sub-Saharan Africa, the long-awaited fuelwood gap, resulting of the unbalance between a declining supply of firewood and the increasing demand of households, remains a latent social-ecological challenge. As its quantitative basis remains elusive, we have assessed agroforestry parklands, assumedly main providers of firewood, and firewood consumption in Dassari, Benin and Dano, Burkina Faso, both in the West African savannah. Data collected included botanical inventories, tree biomass estimations, householders’ ...
