Root parametrized differential equations
(2012-10-17)
The present thesis is about the inverse problem in differential Galois Theory. Given a differential field, the inverse problem asks which linear algebraic groups can be realized as differential Galois groups of Picard-Vessiot extensions of this field.
In this thesis we will concentrate on the realization of the classical groups as differential Galois groups. We introduce a method for a very general realization of these groups. This means that we present for the classical groups of Lie rank $l$ explicit linear ...

Inclusive probability calculations for the K-vacancy transfer in collisions of S{^15+} on Ar
(1992)
Using the single-particle amplitudes from a 20-level coupled-channel calculation with ab initio relativistic self consistent LCAO-MO Dirac-Fock-Slater energy eigenvalues and matrix elements we calculate within the frame of the inclusive probability formalism impact-parameter-dependent K-hole transfer probabilities. As an example we show results for the heavy asymmetric collision system S{^15+} on Ar for impact energies from 4.7 to 16 MeV. The inclusive probability formalism which reinstates the many-particle aspect ...

On Connection, Linearization and Duplication Coefficients of Classical Orthogonal Polynomials
(2014-07-16)
In this work, we have mainly achieved the following:
1. we provide a review of the main methods used for the computation of the connection and linearization coefficients between orthogonal polynomials of a continuous variable, moreover using a new approach, the duplication problem of these polynomial families is solved;
2. we review the main methods used for the computation of the connection and linearization coefficients of orthogonal polynomials of a discrete variable, we solve the duplication and linearization ...

Analytical Study of Light Propagation in Highly Nonlinear Media
(2009-08-17)
The present dissertation is devoted to the construction of exact and approximate analytical solutions of the problem of light propagation in highly nonlinear media. It is demonstrated that for many experimental conditions, the problem can be studied under the geometrical optics approximation with a sufficient accuracy. Based on the renormalization group symmetry analysis, exact analytical solutions of the eikonal equations with a higher order refractive index are constructed. A new analytical approach to the construction ...

Photoperiod-dependent plasticity of circadian pacemaker center in the brain of the Madeira cockroach Rhyparobia maderae
(2012-12-04)
To various degrees, insects in nature adapt to and live with two fundamental
environmental rhythms around them: (1) the daily rhythm of light and dark, and (2) the yearly seasonal rhythm of the changing photoperiod (length of light per day). It is hypothesized that two biological clocks evolved in organisms on earth which allow them to harmonize successfully with the two environmental rhythms: (1) the circadian clock, which orchestrates circadian rhythms in physiology and behavior, and (2) the photoperiodic clock, ...

Zelluläre und biochemische Charakterisierung der bifunktionalen Methyltransferase Dnmt2
(2014-09-12)

Pathogenic Mutations in Catalytic Subunit Isoforms of the cAMP-Dependent Protein Kinase
(2023)
Protein kinase A (PKA) is an integral part in a myriad of cellular pathways and a main effector of the second messenger cAMP. Since its discovery in the late 1960s, PKA has become one of the best-studied eukaryotic protein kinases in terms of enzymatic and structural features. Pathological implications of PKA have just started to emerge. There are three main isoforms (α, β, γ) of the catalytic subunit of PKA (PKA-C) which constitute a holoenzyme (R2C2) by association with a regulatory subunit (PKA-R) dimer. While ...

Asymmetric magnetization reversal processes in exchange-biased microstructures
(2023)
Over the last decades, the exchange bias (EB) effect has captured the attention of the research community striving for high-density logic memory devices and sensitive sensor technologies based on bi-, multilayered, or patterned magnetic thin film systems. Macroscopically, the EB manifests in a horizontal shift of the ferromagnetic remagnetization loop and an enhancement of the coercivity, both connected to the induced unidirectional anisotropy (UDA) at the exchange-coupled ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic interface. ...

Generation Human Body Motion by the Centralized Networks
(2023)
The main goal of the thesis is to describe and study reduced models for efficient simulations of human body motions (HBM). To this end, we propose new coupled oscillator models, which are networks of dynamically coupled elements. These networks consist of a few of centers and many satellites. The centers evolve in time as periodical oscillators with different frequencies. The satellite states are defined via center states by a radial basis function (RBF) networks. To simulate different motions we adjust the parameter ...
