Design of Photovoltaic Microinverter for Off-Grid and Grid-Parallel Applications

The design and construction of a 500VA microinverter for photovoltaic applications is presented. The developed microinverter is capable of operating as a standalone AC voltage source for small loads or, alternatively, as a grid-parallel system. Possible applications are therefore small off-grid installations as well as installations where space constraints do not allow enough modules to be combined to use string inverters. Effect of Auger recombination and leakage on the droop in InGaN/GaN quantum well LEDs

We investigate the effect of the epitaxial structure and the acceptor doping profile on the efficiency droop in InGaN/GaN LEDs by the physics based simulation of experimental internal quantum efficiency (IQE) characteristics. The device geometry is an integral part of our simulation approach. We demonstrate that even for single quantum well LEDs the droop depends critically on the acceptor doping profile. In this thesis, optical gain measurement setup based on variable stripe length method is designed, implemented and improved. The setup is characterized using inorganic and organic samples. The optical gain of spiro-quaterphenyl is calculated and compared with measurements from the setup. This thesis investigates a method for human-robot interaction (HRI) in order to uphold productivity of industrial robots like minimization of the shortest operation time, while ensuring human safety like collision avoidance. For solving such problems an online motion planning approach for robotic manipulators with HRI has been proposed.
