Erzeugung remanent stabiler Domänenmuster in austauschverschobenen Dünnschichtsystemen mittels Heliumionenmikroskopie
(2018-04-11)

Electron-Nuclear Correlation in Laser-Driven Diatomic Molecules
(2011-12-19)
The interaction of short intense laser pulses with atoms/molecules produces a multitude of highly nonlinear processes requiring a non-perturbative treatment. Detailed study of these highly nonlinear processes by numerically solving the time-dependent Schrodinger equation becomes a daunting task when the number of degrees of freedom is large. Also the coupling between the electronic and nuclear degrees of freedom further aggravates the computational problems. In the present work we show that the time-dependent Hartree ...

Squeezed thermal phonons precurse nonthermal melting of silicon as a function of fluence
(2013)
A femtosecond-laser pulse can induce ultrafast nonthermal melting of various materials along pathways
that are inaccessible under thermodynamic conditions, but it is not known whether there is any structural
modification at fluences just below the melting threshold. Here, we show for silicon that in this regime the
room-temperature phonons become thermally squeezed, which is a process that has not been reported
before in this material. We find that the origin of this effect is the sudden femtosecond-laser-induc ...

First-principles electronic theory of non-collinear magnetic order in transition-metal nanowires
(2015-05-27)
The structural, electronic and magnetic properties of one-dimensional 3d transition-metal (TM)
monoatomic chains having linear, zigzag and ladder geometries are investigated in the frame-work of
first-principles density-functional theory. The stability of long-range magnetic order along the
nanowires is determined by computing the corresponding frozen-magnon dispersion relations as a
function of the 'spin-wave' vector q.
First, we show that the ground-state magnetic orders of V, Mn and Fe linear chains at ...

Finite-Elemente-Mehrgitter von Molekülen
(2014-05-19)
Im Rahmen der Dichtefunktionaltheorie wurden Orbitalfunktionale wie z.B. B3LYP entwickelt.

Molecular Imaging using Strong-Field Processes
(2011-03-11)

InP - based quantum dots for telecom wavelengths ranges
(2019-12)
Long-distance quantum communication applications require sources of single photons, emitting at telecom wavelengths (around 1550 nm) with minimum attenu-ation losses of silica fiber.
Semiconductor self-assembled InAs/InP-based quantum dots (QDs) are possible candidates to
reach this spectral region. One of the challenges on the way is a QD asymmetry, which limits the fidelity of entangled photons. Therefore, morphological and optical properties of QDs should be improved in order to achieve the necessary quality and ...

Optical Characterization of Organic Gain Materials for UV-emitting Hybrid Complex Coupled VCSELs
(2014-03-26)
In this thesis, optical gain measurement setup based on variable stripe length method is designed, implemented and improved. The setup is characterized using inorganic and organic samples. The optical gain of spiro-quaterphenyl is calculated and compared with measurements from the setup. Films with various thicknesses of spiro-quaterphenyl, methoxy-spiro-quaterphenyl and phenoxy-spiro-quaterphenyl are deposited by a vacuum vapor deposition technique forming asymmetric slab waveguides. The optical properties, laser ...
