Relativistic LCAO with Minimax Principle and New Balanced Basis Sets
(2011-01-13)
Relativistic density functional theory is widely applied in molecular calculations with heavy atoms, where relativistic and correlation effects are on the same footing. Variational stability of the Dirac Hamiltonian is a very important field of research from the beginning of relativistic molecular calculations on, among efforts for accuracy, efficiency, and density functional formulation, etc. Approximations of one- or two-component methods and searching for suitable basis sets are two major means for good projection ...

Lösungen linearer Polynomgleichungen in Funktionenkörpern und Uniformisierbarkeit von t-Moduln
(2018)
t = τ^2 + A τ+ θ

Development of UNCD-based multielectrode arrays for neuronal measurements
(2017-07-26)
The work in hand will show how some of diamond’s extraordinary features can be utilized in bio-applications especially for in vitro cultures of neuronal cells. Diamond has proven itself as an excellent material for bio-applications such as simple fluorescent microarrays over bioFET (field effect transistor) to bioMEMS (microelectro-mechanical systems). The reason does not only lie in its best known properties namely extreme hardness and high refractive index, but in its unique chemistry. As one of the modifications ...

Systematics and evolution of the genus Deuterocohnia Mez (Bromeliaceae)
(2013-04-05)
The present study investigates the systematics and evolution of the Neotropical genus Deuterocohnia Mez (Bromeliaceae). It provides a comprehensive taxonomic revision as well as phylogenetic analyses based on chloroplast and nuclear DNA sequences and presents a hypothesis on the evolution of the genus.
A broad morphological, anatomical, biogeographical and ecological overview of the genus is given in the first part of the study. For morphological character assessment more than 700 herbarium specimens from 39 herbaria ...

Root parametrized differential equations
(2012-10-17)
The present thesis is about the inverse problem in differential Galois Theory. Given a differential field, the inverse problem asks which linear algebraic groups can be realized as differential Galois groups of Picard-Vessiot extensions of this field.
In this thesis we will concentrate on the realization of the classical groups as differential Galois groups. We introduce a method for a very general realization of these groups. This means that we present for the classical groups of Lie rank $l$ explicit linear ...

Competencies of Higher Education Graduates: A Case of Universitas Kristen Indonesia
(2013-04-16)
This dissertation investigated higher education graduate competencies, acquired during their study period and required at work as perceived by the graduates themselves. This study also investigated whether graduates of professional, semiprofessional, and non-professional study programs acquired different levels of competencies during their studies and compared the gaps among the three groups of graduates. The case study is Universitas Kristen Indonesia graduates of graduation years 2001, 2003, and 2005, from the ...

Strategies towards evaluation beyond scientific impact
(Librello, 2015)
Various research fields, like organic agricultural research, are dedicated to solving real-world problems and contributing to sustainable development. Therefore, systems research and the application of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches are increasingly endorsed. However, research performance depends not only on self-conception, but also on framework conditions of the scientific system, which are not always of benefit to such research fields. Recently, science and its framework conditions have been ...

Accuracy of outcome anticipation, but not gaze behavior, differs against left- and right-handed penalties in team-handball goalkeeping
(Frontiers Research Foundation, 2015)
Low perceptual familiarity with relatively rarer left-handed as opposed to more common right-handed individuals may result in athletes' poorer ability to anticipate the former's action intentions. Part of such left-right asymmetry in visual anticipation could be due to an inefficient gaze strategy during confrontation with left-handed individuals. To exemplify, observers may not mirror their gaze when viewing left- vs. right-handed actions but preferentially fixate on an opponent's right body side, irrespective of ...
